Why we use American Apparel.

Their products are sweatshop free because they pay their workers a fair wage according to California wage and hour laws. Unlike other companies who have gone offshore or use subcontractors, they insist on knowing the faces of their workers.

Where are American Apparel products made?

Most of their products are knit, cut, and sewn in their facility in Downtown LA. They also operate their own dye-house nearby. They do offer some products made from specialty fabrics which are imported. These products are still cut and sewn in their LA facility.

Fabric is part of what sets American Apparel apart from the competition. Their smooth, soft, 100% cotton fabrics have raised the bar. Many of their fabrics are woven at their factory in downtown Los Angeles, including their Sustainable Edition fabrics made from environmentally safe organically grown cotton.
